Jeff Duston - Owner/Operator

 

​Jeff Duston was owner & operator of Palos Verdes Tours in California for 12 years. In that time he was an honored member of the Professional Paddlers Association (PPA).

 

Jeff was the skipper of the water safety boat for Rick Stoner Surfboards/Paddleboards and escorted owner Jeff Stoner in the 32 mile Catalina Classic open ocean paddle race from Catalina to Manhattan Beach, which Jeff Stoner won and was the top ranking paddler at that time.

 

Jeff also escorted Jamie Mitchell in the Catalina Classic August 2002, which he won also and has never been beaten and is still the top ranked paddler. Palos Verdes Tours was involved with a lot of the schools in the district & worked with many youth groups over that time also doing guided kayak tours for the likes of MTV and Disney.

 

Jeff was a competitive swimmer for 14 years, played water polo for 8 years and participated in junior lifeguards and the lifeguard programme for many years. Jeff has been surfing since he was 6 years old and surfed all around the world for Rick Surfboards for 15 years.

 

In 2005, Jeff immigrated to New Zealand to start his new kayak adventure company Te Akau Adventures Limited which changed its name in 2015 to Raglan Adventures Limited.

 

Jeff holds a current workplace first aid certificate and prides himself on providing a fun and safe experience for all abilities, with his impeccable safety record,  knowledge and a wealth of experience.
